Industry sectors are engaged in a frantic round of lobbying in order to maximise their allocations under the EU emissions trading scheme. The Environment Department (DEFRA) has now released indicative figures showing the emission reductions which are expected from each sector, with the offshore oil and gas industry feeling particularly hard done by.1
