Preparing for the integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regime has been a major undertaking for environmental managers, consultants and regulators across the UK. The organic chemicals sector presented a particular challenge because of its size and complexity. In this feature, ENDS looks at the applications and permits from three organic chemicals companies on Teesside and talks to the environmental managers who dealt with the challenge.
