Initial transposition of water Directive completed across UK

Transposition of the EU water framework Directive in the UK has continued with regulations putting into place in Northern Ireland the powers and duties needed to implement the river basin management planning process.1 Both here and elsewhere in the UK there will be challenges for authorities to make the Directive work in cross-border river basins.
