EU environmental technology plan tackles wide policy agenda

An EU action plan to boost environmental technologies was published by the European Commission at the end of January.1 The centrepiece is a series of "technology platforms", initially tackling photovoltaics, fuel cells and water. But the plan ranges widely, touching on technology standards, investment, harmful subsidies, state aid, public procurement and performance targets.
