Regulations delaying the application of the integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regime to sewage works, and exempting most IPPC installations from "fit and proper persons" requirements, came into effect in January.1 Meanwhile, the Scottish Executive is consulting on amendments to remove controls on certain small-scale industrial installations.2
