Total makes progress on pollution prevention

Oil company Total signed a voluntary agreement to prevent pollution from its service stations in October 2002, after several serious leaks from underground fuel tanks caused the Environment Agency to name and shame the firm for two years running in its "Spotlight" report on business performance (ENDS Report 334, p 11 ).
