UK closer to ratifying treaty on liability for marine chemical pollution

A long-delayed second consultation on UK ratification of a global treaty on liability for marine chemical pollution has finally been launched by the Department of Transport.1 Ratification is now being promised later this year - and on terms which will not please companies which operate several dozen chemical storage facilities around the UK.
