MPs attack renewables obligation

The renewables obligation should be subject to annual parliamentary scrutiny, according to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee. The MPs complain that the obligation, which will involve a total subsidy of £5 billion by 2010, "does not appear on electricity bills and is not explained to customers".
