UK's REACH compromise text moves agenda ahead

The UK Presidency circulated the first formal compromise text on the proposed Regulation on the registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (REACH) in September. It features a greater role for the planned European Chemicals Agency, a stronger duty on companies to share chemical risk assessment data and a more risk-based approach to handling low-volume substances.
