Shanks to pay £66,000 following Hartlepool chemicals blaze

Shanks has been made to pay over £66,000 in fines and costs after illegally stored lithium wastes caused a fire that devastated its waste treatment site in Hartlepool last year. The company had been storing the waste since 2003 contrary to its waste management licence.
