UK misses end-of-life vehicle recovery target

The UK has failed to meet the target set by the EU end-of-life vehicles Directive to recover 85% of ELVs by 1 January 2006. Investment in domestic recycling technologies is planned but some shredder residue is likely to be exported for recovery.
