Step forward for Northern Ireland water company

A draft Order transferring responsibility for Northern Ireland’s water services to a government-owned company was issued for consultation in June.1 It would remove the crown immunity claimed by the Northern Ireland Water Service, but the new company would not have to pay most sewage pollution charges until the end of 2008.
