  • European Commission publishes CO2 cap for aviation

    The European Commission has belatedly decided a figure for the total quantity of carbon dioxide airlines can emit when they come under the EU’s carbon trading scheme in January 2012.
  • Knives out for CRC

    The government should kill off the Carbon Reduction Commitment rather than simplify it, say industry lobby groups. Offset provider Carbon Retirement says the CRC will fail to achieve any real cuts in emissions
  • Renewable heat incentive refocused on business

    The government has revealed details of its long-awaited support mechanism for renewable heat energy. It is significantly different to the last government’s plans and focuses on businesses rather than households. The proposal also sees some heating technologies lose out.

The Castle Debates 2011 - Environmental aspects: science, law and policy

The inaugural Castle Debates 2011 – a series of high-level environmental debates with leading scientific, legal and governmental speakers, organised in association with the Law Society and Sykes Environmental, will be held on a monthly basis between February and June 2011.
