Failure to upgrade leads to £27,000 fine for foundry
A ferrous foundry in the West Midlands has been fined £27,000 for seven breaches of its local air pollution control (LAPC) authorisation. The operator argued that it was not worthwhile to upgrade the process because of plans to move to another site - but the firm is still failing to meet standards which came into force two years ago.
