BRE revamps environmental rating scheme for housing

Housing developers have been offered a revamped voluntary environmental rating scheme by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) as an alternative to a possible mandatory official scheme. But judging by the response to previous voluntary initiatives, few developments are likely to be put forward for assessment.
