Cosmetics firms linked to destructive talc mining
Cosmetics and soap manufacturers including Unilever, Revlon, Johnson & Johnson and Avon have been accused of buying talc from illegal mines in India which have destroyed part of a tiger reserve. The case provides further evidence of the difficulties multinationals face in ensuring that agricultural commodities and minerals used in their products come from sustainable and legal sources.
