Agency moves goalposts for IPPC site condition reports
Companies applying for permits under the integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regime will no longer have to submit results of intrusive site investigations as part of their applications, according to a change in policy announced by the Environment Agency. The move is designed to remove lengthy delays in issuing permits, but comes as cold comfort to many firms which have already spent heavily on site investigations.
