LibDems would replace DEFRA with DEET

The Liberal Democrats would scrap the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and create a new Department looking after the environment, energy and transport, according to their leader Charles Kennedy. In a speech on the environment, he also outlined LibDem plans for more coherent use of economic instruments, taxes on aviation and incentives for greener behaviour.
