Action on marine environment 'imperative', say MPs

Urgent action to protect the UK's marine environment was recommended by a report published by the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee on 22 March.1 However, the Committee drew back from supporting the two key initiatives sought by environmental organisations - a marine Act, and the introduction of marine spatial planning.
