NW Water includes incinerator in plan to beat sludge dumping ban

Plans for a sewage sludge incineration and processing complex near Widnes have been unveiled by North West Water (NWW). The project, involving a capital investment of over £100 million, is needed to comply with a ban on sludge dumping at sea which takes effect at the end of 1988.
