WEEE clearing-house rules face further delay

Details of how the proposed national clearing house for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) would work are unlikely to appear before the autumn, leaving the Environment Agency little time to train staff and oversee the registration of appliance manufacturers and importers. Producers are likely to be allowed to introduce a visible fee at point of sale to cover the costs of recycling "historic" WEEE.
