Milestones fail to still qualms about contaminated land regime

The number of areas under investigation by the Environment Agency for possible designation as "special sites" under the Part IIA contaminated land regime passed the hundred mark in June. But the volume of remediation work under Part IIA remains small, and official thoughts are now turning to ways of giving the regime greater momentum, as well as to better measurement of activity in the wider land remediation market.
