Doubts over air quality progress confirmed in review of action plans
It is "too early" to say whether the local air quality management (LAQM) regime has had any impact on pollution - and objectives for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and fine particles (PM10) will be missed in many areas, according to a review for the Environment Department (DEFRA).1 The Highways Agency and county councils are urged to play a more constructive role in the regime.
