Criticism piles up on Northern Ireland's waste record

Northern Ireland's Department of the Environment (DoE) has been castigated for its failure to implement the province's four-year old waste management strategy in a damning report from its Waste Management Advisory Board.1 Highlighting the area's "huge infrastructural deficit", it calls for the replacement of the three sub-regional planning areas with a single waste management plan for the whole of Northern Ireland.
