Carbon sequestration on the back burner until 2020

The Government has confirmed that it does not expect projects to capture and store CO2 to be viable before 2020. It is seeking views on a future strategy to support carbon abatement - but a consultants' report argues that the technology should be applied to gas-fired power stations in preference to coal.
