Business group slams 'intervention' in UK emissions trading scheme

Plans to drain the massive surplus of allowances in the UK carbon market will "damage the fragile confidence" in market mechanisms, according to the UK Emissions Trading Group. The group complains that the move may jeopardise plans for companies under climate change agreements (CCAs) to opt out of the EU trading scheme.
