Lords grumble over programme for tackling radioactive waste

A House of Lords Committee has attacked the Government's progress in moving towards a solution for the UK's radioactive wastes, and criticised its reluctance to press ahead with an underground repository. Meanwhile, the Government's Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWM) has set out initial views on disposal options, the inventory of wastes and the implications of classifying reprocessed plutonium and uranium as wastes.1
