MPs cast doubt on value for money of UK emissions trading scheme

The £215 million in incentive payments offered to participants in the UK emissions trading scheme does not appear to represent value for money, according to the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee.1 The MPs say it is “essential” to seek concessions from key participants to maintain confidence in the scheme.
