Further delay on WEEE as deal is reached on clearing house

The timetable for implementing the EU Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has slipped further after Industry Minister Mike O'Brien decided industry's plans for a national clearing house needed simplifying. There will now be another consultation paper on the WEEE regulations, probably in March, together with draft guidance from the Environment Agency on permitting of WEEE treatment sites.
