Budget fails to follow through on green tax
Environmental taxes such as the climate change, aggregates and landfill levies are achieving or exceeding their policy goals, the Treasury claimed in the Budget on 16 March. Nonetheless, the Chancellor elected to freeze most existing green taxes, and there were no significant new environmental initiatives. By contrast, the regulatory reform agenda continues apace.
