Agency shuts cement kiln after dioxin breaches

The Environment Agency has served an enforcement notice forcing Castle Cement to shut down a kiln at its Padeswood site in North Wales following a severe breach of the emissions limit for dioxins. Dioxins are toxic, persistent and bioaccumulative.
