‘Targeted use reductions’ on agenda for pesticides strategy
Proposals for a national strategy for the sustainable use of pesticides have been issued for consultation by the Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD).1 They confirm that the Government has no intention of setting an across-the-board target for reducing pesticide use - but targeted use reductions are on the agenda, alongside other innovations such as timing restrictions on spraying on ecological grounds and regional pesticide use permits.
