‘Cavalier’ Thames Water fined £50,000 for sewage spill
Thames Water has been fined £50,000 after polluting a Swindon river with undiluted sewage causing the death of 8,000 fish. The company’s telemetry system was criticised by the judge who also called its refusal to cooperate with the Environment Agency’s investigations "cavalier, verging on the irresponsible".
