Energy policy back in the melting pot

The Government has announced another major review of energy policy to be completed by the end of 2006, which will include a decision on the case for new nuclear power stations. However, the scope for extending the operating lives of British Energy's existing reactors may be an important variable in the timing of investment in new low carbon technologies.
