Veolia sells stake in Southern Water

French utilities company Veolia Environment disposed of its 25% stake in Southern Water in April because its minority ownership did not give it enough control to maximise its investment. Competition rules prevented Veolia from increasing the stake it acquired from Scottish Power in 2001.
