Householder fined for mixing recycling waste

A Swansea householder has been fined £100 and £100 in costs for "contaminating" his tin and glass recyclable waste with a single item of junk mail. The prosecution, brought by Swansea City Council under section 46 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, was heavily criticised in the media.
