UKAEA pays £140,000 for Dounreay nuclear site’s ‘unacceptable legacy’
The UK Atomic Energy Authority has admitted illegally discharging radioactive particles from its Dounreay nuclear research facility in Caithness. The discharges continued for more than 20 years, causing long-lived contamination of the seabed and local beaches.
