Climate Camp hits Eon’s Kingsnorth plant

For the third year running, the summer Climate Camp has garnered extensive national media coverage of a major UK greenhouse gas emitter.1 This year’s week-long camp in early August took place in a field near Eon’s Kingsnorth power station, in opposition to the generator’s plan to build a new 1.6-gigwatt coal-fired plant there (ENDS Report 399, pp 11-12 ). Previous camps have focused on Drax power station and Heathrow Airport.
