Drax’s big biomass power ambitions

Drax, owner of the UK’s largest power station, has announced plans for the biggest UK investment to date in biomass electricity generation. It wants to build three identical 300 megawatt plants at a cost of some £2 billion in a 60:40 joint venture with German engineering and electronics giant Siemens.
