Scepticism greets Gateway bid to capture recycling agenda

The supermarket chain Gateway has chipped into the recycling debate by proposing a service based on mini-recycling centres and a novel digestion process which it claims could recycle 80% of household waste. Gateway says the scheme should be funded by a levy on packaging and newsprint, but its proposals are being treated with some scepticism.
