Fuel duty escalator policy ‘desirable’, says thinktank

An environmental thinktank has defended the 1990s fuel duty escalator and argued for a shift to green taxation. Increased fuel taxes will allow cuts in other taxes and reduce pollution, the Green Fiscal Commission argues.
