Conoco and SGS share £44,000 water penalty

Oil major Conoco Philips and environmental services company SGS (UK) Ltd have been ordered to pay more than £44,000 after allowing a leaking petrol storage tank to pollute groundwater. Both were fined by Plymouth magistrates in December, for breaching the Water Resources Act 1991.
