Response to recycling report rejects waste targets
Few of the recommendations for waste management targets made in this summer's report on recycling by the House of Commons Environment Committee have been accepted by the Government. Its response also rejects the idea of a national industrial waste minimisation scheme.1 Details of its intentions on issues such as recycling credits, removal of barriers to energy-from-waste schemes, and the balance between incineration and landfill are expected to emerge via other initiatives in the coming weeks. The Committee says that the Government's response lacks urgency.
