Sewage clean-up to go ahead as NRA overrides Ministers' "opinion"

The National Rivers Authority (NRA) has told South West Water that it expects it to press ahead with two major sewerage schemes despite advice from the Department of the Environment (DoE) that they should be delayed. The saga is a lesson to Ministers that the law does not always permit political interference with environmental standards.
