IPPC Directive to force major changes in IPC

At least 5,000 processes not currently regulated under integrated pollution control (IPC) in the UK will be caught by the EC Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC), agreed by Environment Ministers on 23 June. This, together with a much wider list of prescribed substances in liquid effluents than the UK's, will require major changes in the IPC regime over the next few years.
