ACBE tackles environmental costs, hits out at RCEP over transport
The Government's slow progress in introducing economic instruments in the environmental field has been criticised in a report by its Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment (ACBE).1 The report also warns that business needs to play a more active role in the debate on internalisation of environmental costs by companies. But ACBE's fiercest criticisms are reserved for the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution (RCEP), for allegedly failing to take into account the costs of its radical recommendations for curbing road traffic.
