Dundee's controversial incinerator in line for early closure

Dundee City Council has scrapped plans to keep its troubled Baldovie incinerator in operation for the next two years while a replacement waste-to-energy plant is built. The plant should shut down this summer once the council has commissioned a sterilisation unit to treat the large volumes of clinical waste which are currently burned.
