Farmers have poor awareness of pollution prevention codes

The voluntary approach to protecting the environment is not working well on many of Britain's farms, according to a study for the Ministry of Agriculture (MAFF). MAFF's advice on issues like global warming, ammonia emissions and soil protection is not reaching most farmers, almost 40% of whom are not complying with good agricultural practice.
