Environment Ministers push ozone back onto EC agenda

Environment Ministers from eight northern European countries have agreed to eliminate ozone episodes in the region by 2005, and have called for urgent action at EC level to reduce emissions of ozone precursors by over 60% from current levels. However, the target falls a long way short of ensuring compliance with a health-based air quality standard proposed by UK experts.
