Massive cuts in greenhouse gases needed, warns EEA

The European Environment Agency (EEA) has raised the stakes for forthcoming international negotiations on climate change with a report which claims that the EC must reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30-55% below 1990 levels by 2010 if dangerous interference with the climate is to be avoided.1
